I fail to see how they could get institute this as both credit and debit cards. They are governed by different financial laws that sometimes are at odds with one another. I don't have any visa cards though I was considering one for Costco. Hopefully Mastercard doesn't make this mistake. I'm fairly confident Amex won't.

Hey Mark - great video as usually. Small correction, under Reason 4 - around 11:00 minute, add Bank of America Travel card to the exception. While all other Travel cards (PR and PRE) have 1 point = 1 cent, this one specific card Travel Rewards (Blue card), if redeemed for cash back offers lower value per 1 point. unless you redeem the points for Travel or Dining credits, then you retain 1 point = 1 cent value. I got really excited about this card, as it is a great catcher card, with no annual fee, but ultimately had to chose Ultimate Cash Reward as that is straight 1=1 ratio, albeit it caries FTF.

This video helped me decide to go with this card. Since I was looking for a no annual fee card with no foreign fees. I will keep a list below with everything that has triggered 3X points. I will be updating it as time goes. 3 X Points : Sam's Club / Costco Gas

If I did not travel for work I would probably not use Travel cards. Actually I do not think I would. It would be 100% cash back cards, Bilt, probably only my Chase Preferred. To utilize fully I would suggest a blend of high cash back and targeted quarterly cash back. Take July 2024 coming up..5% cash back in store at Walmart and Online..something Walmart has not done yet. I have 3% cash back like Paypal, Apple to capture when I can do that. Also have a blend of Quicksilver/Savor One.I am really pissed btw that Paypal is dropping from 2%. That transforms Paypal MasterCard Cash Back into something mediocre with that simple change. Oh well. For my Travel cards...I went Amex. Amex Plat, Gold and Delta Reserve. Thing that I find hilarious is Amex is hardly accepted depending outside the USA. You can almost 100% use a Discover or Amex in the US. Its so accepted that a American Consumer hardly blinks a eye. I travel all over for my job..large places and very rural EU, Africa, Middle East and a little bit of Asia. I have found Discover never works, and Amex well about 20% of the time. Maybe 30% at most. Even rural EU say Romania I had encountered merchants, local hotels that never have seen a Amex all of their lives. Went to rural southern Japan last year for 4 months. Amex free zone. Anyhow I find it ironic Amex issues a card that they sell as Travel but I can never use it hardly when I am not in USA. Conversely Amex Plat gives me way more in frills then it costs me so its a catch 22. If one does not travel which many many do not I would highly suggest having a smattering of cash back cards. I would also suggest to the new person starting up a life full of travel be it pleasure or work..make sure you have Master Card/Visa since they are accepted everywhere.

Yeah. No. Amex REFUSED to give me a retention offer. My renewal was in april. They absolutely flat out refused. I called 3 different times and they all did not even try to hear it.

Nicely explained. After getting rejected by chase and capital one ( despite having 775+ score) I got BOA card. Hopefully it’ll be worth it

As someone on #TeamCashBack, I would say one of the most annoying things is managing all those extra cash back offers. Like Amex Offers, Citi Merchant Offers, Wells Fargo Deals. So that means a card that might only normally earn 1% would earn 11% on a single transaction due to an offer. I've also noticed this year that my Amex BCP has been beating my Autograph card in cash back for travel purchases. Due to Amex Offers. I personally think the BCP is one of the greatest cash back cards ever! Despite the $95 AF But as annoying as it can be at times managing it, I love doing it😊

With these multipliers and chases partners it would be the best single card ever.

In your experience what cards allow you to transfer to bank accounts? For me, I am looking to maximize my cash back cards by reinvesting the rewards into savings. I do have travel cards but have always been more cash back leaning!

Love my Verizon Visa Signature card ; good multipliers if you’re a Verizon customer it’s a no brainer

For me it’s a toss up between the Costco Everywhere Visa and the Amazon Prime Visa; the Costco card requires a Costco membership but offers 4% on gas, 3% on restaurants, 2% at Costco and 1% everywhere else. Combine that with the Prime card for 5% back at Amazon and you can really save a lot of cash.

I'm on team travel, but I love using my Chase Freedom Flex and then transferring the points over to the Chase Sapphire Reserve for travel redemptions. I got the $200 (20k UR) + 5% gas/grocery SUB in February 2024, so I get 5x on gas/groceries through February 2025, 3x on restaurants/drugstores, and 5x on rotating categories. That's just as good (or better) than the Amex Gold, with no annual fee (besides the CSR fee)!

I think for most people and I mean a vast majority of people cash back cards win every time. People get trapped with the coupon book of Amex and the allure of the luxury travel. The annual fee cards if you can break even you’re doing good, but they will not carry you to “free vacations” they will however help subsidize a chunk or portion of your travel, but you will still out of pocket many many trips. They are made for high spenders but your average Joe American. But people like to live or try to leave above their means. I have a few annual few travel cards but a healthy mix of no annual fee travel cards. Just enough for a few flights a year + a vacation nothing else. Most ppl should stick to cash back cards but this is all my opinion/ observation.

One of the problems with cash back cards is that most of them have FTF if you travel internationally. Capital One doesn't have this on any of their cash back cards, also the SoFi credit card that earns 2% cash back I believe is the ONLY 2% card that has NO FTF that I am aware of. 🤔

For Wells Fargo you missed one card: the active cash where you get 2% back on all purchases
